Mohali Takes on Trash Troubles with State-of-the-Art Processing Facility
Mohali’s waste management woes may soon be history as the Municipal Corporation unveils a 150-tonne daily capacity processing plant near Jagatpura. The facility, equipped with advanced segregation machinery and composting units, aims to tackle the city’s growing garbage crisis.

Behind the Scenes
The ₹22 crore project, partly funded by the Smart Cities Mission, includes a network of Recycling and Management Centers (RMCs) in Sectors 71, 77, and 78. Mayor Sidhu noted, “After closing our main dump, we needed scalable solutions. This plant is just the start.”
